From Little Greene's second collaboration with National Trust, Massingberd Blossom wallpaper works a dream as an impactful, uplifting wallpaper, for a powder room to a play room and throughout the home. The origin of the design is likely to be Edwardian. You can definitely see the oriental influence typical of the era; the trailing blossom and repeating bird design is often found in hand-painted chinoiserie; a Western aesthetic inspired by Eastern design. The traditional surface printing used to produce it has a hand blocked look, with a lovely depth to it that's more inky than mass-produced paper.
The wallpaper gets its name from MP William Massingberd, who had it in the Grey Room at Gunby Hall, which is now a National Trust property. A contribution from the sale of every roll of wallpaper in Little Greene's National Trust collections will be made in support of the National Trust's conservation work.
