Quick tip: If you’re painting walls where there’s high traffic, like children’s bedrooms, landings  or hallways, we’d recommend you use the Intelligent Matt Emulsion, which is also low sheen (5%), but you can wash it clean with soapy water.

This is the go-to paint for those walls in the house that get the most grubby. Intelligent Eggshell Interior paint holds its own against all the hustle and bustle of busy home life. The finish is strong and scrubbable, so it’s the most highly recommended of Little Greene’s paints for kitchens and bathrooms. We love it because it withstands moisture, staining and general wear and tear, yet the sheen is still relatively low (10-15%), so you get a lovely elegant finish combined with the all important durability. The days of waiting hours for floor paint to dry are over. The great thing about Little Greene’s water based Intelligent Floor Paint is that it has a drying time of only 1 - 2 hours, so normal life can resume in no time, with the minimum of disruption. Unlike the oil based floor paints of old, this is low odour, easy to apply and very quick to dry. It won’t discolour due to lack of UV exposure either, like an oil based paint. The sheen level is semi-gloss (30% - 40%) and it’s durable and stain resistant.

Quick Tip: Prepare the surface before applying Intelligent Floor Paint. Knots in soft woods should be sealed with Little Greene Aluminium Wood Primer to stop staining.

Intelligent ASP (All Surface Primer) is such a versatile primer. It works on virtually any substrate including uPVC, wood, metals, tiles, glass and melamine. Not only is it suitable for a hugely diverse range of surfaces, it dries in 2 hours, so it’s a very useful primer to have around the home for projects that need to be completed quickly. Intelligent ASP is available in all Little Greene colours, so you get a good depth of colour on your top coat.

Note: The Intelligent ASP will be lighter in colour than the top coat.

The sheen you get with Little Greene’s Interior Oil Eggshell is that lovely happy medium between satinwood and matt. The gloss level is just 10-20%, so it’s low, but not as flat as matt. This paint is highly recommended for interior woodwork and primed metal work because it’s hard wearing, durable, water-resistant and washable.  An excellent eggshell for high traffic areas like hallways, children’s rooms and landings. It goes on easily, the coverage is superb and the fabulous depth of colour transforms the room.

If you’re painting an older home with traditional building materials or renders where damp is an issue and you’re looking for a very low sheen finish, Limewash is an excellent choice. It’s a breathable paint ideally suited to porous stone and lime rendered exterior surfaces. Limewash differs from regular paint in that it penetrates the surface and the colour builds up as each successive coat is applied. It’s touch dry in around an hour, however 24 hours is advised between coats. Four coats are recommended. It’s water based and quick to dry. For older buildings, we’d recommend Limewash for the external surfaces  and Distemper for internal.

A breathable paint for period properties, on walls and ceilings in rooms with low traffic. Distemper is perfect if you’re looking for a traditional, powdery matt finish to revive characterful, older walls that need to breathe. We love the combination of a very matt paint (3%) that’s environmentally friendly, aesthetically authentic and wipeable. 

Quick Tip: Please bear in mind that Distemper is not suitable for areas where there’s condensation, water vapour or heavy traffic.
